Project

GOAL:

The goal of the project is to initiate the implementation of the „Plan for a long-distance cycling route with a network of trans-border links” prepared during the project, which will be possible thanks to a broad, trans-border cooperation between local and regional governments and NGOs in Poland and Czech Republic. The engagement of public administration, NGOs and local communities is crucial for harnessing the full potential of trans-border cooperation.

ACTIONS :

The project includes two kinds of actions:

  • TYP 1 – supporting coordinated local and regional policy-making in the borderland,
  • TYP 2 – initiating the implementation of the “Plan for a long-distance cycling route with a network of trans-border links”.

RESULTS:

The realization of the project should bring about the rise of the interest in cycling tourism, increase of knowledge about preparing attractive touristic offers for cyclists, as well as enhancement of cooperation and coexistence between local communities.

The mechanisms proposed in the Strategy should lay the foundation for coordinated policy-making by regional and local governments with respect to the development of trans-border cycling tourism and indicate viable solutions for improving organizational and spatial conditions for cycling-related investments.
